Admission process
This qualification has an admission process, which includes:
- a police vet
- you providing two professional referees
- an interview.
Your acceptance into this degree is subject to meeting admission criteria, and approval by the Bachelor of Social Health and Wellbeing Programme Leader.
Enrolment process for new students
To apply to enrol select the course(s) you wish to enrol in then click 'Add to enrolment plan'. Then fill in our online enrolment application form.
New learners need to apply five weeks before their preferred start date. Re-enrolling learners can follow the standard enrolment dates for this programme. Please see the table on the choose courses and apply tab for specific dates.
Police vetting
When you apply, you need to complete a Vetting Request and Consent form. This form authorises the New Zealand Police to share information about you with Open Polytechnic*. All information is confidential.
When you return this form, you need to include two forms of identification. These must be verified by a trusted referee.
You can download and complete a NZ Police Vetting Service Request and Consent form, during the enrolment process. Details on how to send the form back are included in the document.
Note: Please do not email your vetting form until you have submitted your application
Vetting Request and Consent Form
Referees
As part of the online enrolment application, you need to provide us with the details of two confidential referees. You need to include their:
- name
- email address
- telephone number.
Your referees cannot be a family member or friend. One referee should be your most recent employer.
Other documentation
You also need to provide us with additional documentation, which we will give you the details of in the online enrolment form. We will send you an email reminder to provide these documents after you submit the form.
You need to provide all documentation before we can finish processing your application.
You also need to write 200-300 words on why you want to work in the Social Health and Wellbeing sector and why think you will be successful in the role.
