Entry requirements

Entry requirements will depend on the level of course(s) you enrol in:

  • Level 3-4 courses – minimum of NCEA Level 2 or equivalent
  • Level 5 courses – minimum of NCEA Level 3 or equivalent study or work experience
  • Level 6 courses – previous study at Level 5 or equivalent study or work experience
  • Level 7 courses – previous study at Level 6 or equivalent study or work experience.

In addition, specific courses may have specific prerequisites as listed on their course pages.  

20 years old or over?

If you are over 20 and do not meet the entry requirements above, you may be eligible to enrol if your previous education, work or life experience shows you have a reasonable chance of success. 

 

International learners and domestic learners living overseas

  • International learners living in New Zealand or overseas – You can study most courses available through Course Only part time.
  • International learners living in New Zealand – You must be in paid employment, with a valid work permit.  
  • New Zealand citizens living overseas – You will be able to study most courses that are listed as part of Course Only.

Computer and internet requirements

All courses are delivered online. This means you will access course content and submit assessments online, so you need regular access to a computer and reliable internet. When your course(s) start you need to log in regularly and work through the online course materials.

If English or Māori is not your first language you also need to provide evidence of English language or te reo Māori proficiency.
