To enter this programme you need to have a minimum of ten credits at Level 2 in Literacy, Communication or English, which includes five in writing and five in reading.
If you do not meet the criteria, you may be eligible for admission with the approval of the Programme Delivery Manager.
Age
Under 16 years old
Students must be at least 16 years of age or older to study at Open Polytechnic. The Chief Executive may make an exception for students enrolling under an approved agreement.
20 years old or over
Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements will be eligible to be enrolled where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success.
International students and domestic students living overseas
You can study this programme part-time if you’re an international student living in New Zealand or overseas. If you live in New Zealand you will need to be in paid employment with a valid work permit. You can also study this programme if you’re a New Zealand citizen living overseas.
Computer and internet requirements
This programme is delivered online. To complete this programme you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer, reliable broadband internet connection and a data plan able to support online learning such as streaming of videos (including YouTube), downloading content, and writing and submitting online assessments.
