This online course introduces ākonga to ethical considerations and standards that govern the teaching profession. The course develops ākonga abilities to assess information from a range of sources, undertake research, and write formally as required by a teacher. There will be an emphasis on locating and using resources in the local community.

The course also provides opportunities for ākonga to develop their oral and visual presentation skills with a range of audiences including those of different ethnicities and ages. There is a particular emphasis on collaborative planning and problem solving with peers, rangatahi and colleagues in school settings. Ākonga will be supported to demonstrate agility in dealing with a range of technology processes and to critically reflect on these.

Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate research skills including using electronic databases to access education and technical journals and educational and technology research
- Apply an understanding of ethical practice and skills in teaching and research situations.
- Develop and communicate a technological process that could be applied in developing local curriculum resources.
