This second practicum further develops professional knowledge and pedagogical skills that enable you to make positive contributions to the early childhood setting.
You will progress your use of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga in practice.
You will focus on supporting the wellbeing and the social competence of tamariki (children) through responsive and inclusive practice and pedagogies. You will participate in teaching team discussions and events and collaboratively plan for the learning of tamariki, sharing assessment and planning documentation with the learning community.
learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Apply appropriate te reo Māori and tikanga Māori in practice and use professional resources to support practice.
- Establish and maintain responsive and reciprocal relationships to support the wellbeing and belonging of tamariki and their whānau/community.
- Use inclusive and mana-enhancing strategies to support the developing social and emotional competence of tamariki.
- Collaborate with the teaching team through involvement in planning discussions, events, and relevant meetings and actively contributing to the programme.
- Enhance learning experiences and communication with the learning community by developing and sharing assessment and planning documentation.
- Use reflection, evidence and inquiry to support or challenge own practice.
