MyOP is your learner portal where you can see information about your courses, apply for extensions and more.
You can also download it as an app to your phone or laptop for quick access.
What's in MyOP
The MyOP learner portal is where you can:
- See your course details such as start and end dates, assessment due dates and results.
- Apply for an assessment extension
- Request an academic transript
- Keep your personal and contact details up to date
- See updates from us, such as scheduled online maintenance
- Find links to study tips and guides and study support.

MyOP app
The MyOP app is a Progressive Web App. This means it is a website that you can download from your browser and use like an app (you do not need to go to the app store, just follow the instructions below).
App features
- Works on computer, tablet and phone – you can download the app on Windows, Android and iOS devices.
- Multiple devices – you can download it to as many devices as you want.
- Offline access – you can access the MyOP app offline.
- The information shown will be from the last time you logged in to the app online.
- You will not be able to apply for assessment extensions when you are offline.
- You cannot request an academic transcript, update your personal details or password while offline.
- Log in – You need to log in with your @myop.ac.nz password to use to use the MyOP app.
- Links – Links to pages on the Open Polytechnic website will open in the app.
What devices and browsers the MyOP PWA works with
If your device has an up-to-date browser, you should be able to install MyOP as an app. If your device cannot support an up-to-date browser it may not support PWAs.
Browser
We recommend you use the Chrome browser (any version above 114.0). It will also work on other browsers (see PWA compatibility).
Device type
- You can download MyOP as an app on any up-to-date Windows or Mac computer or Android device.
- For an iPhone or iPad you need to select ‘Add to home screen’ to bookmark the site on your home screen.
How to download MyOP as an app
Download to your laptop or desktop
To download MyOP as an app we recommend you use the Chrome browser (any version above 114.0), and make sure your device is up to date. Note – some older devices may not support PWAs.
- Log into the MyOP learner portal
- Click on the download icon on the top right of the menu bar
- Click ‘Install’ on the pop up.
MyOP will now show on your desktop.
Download MyOP as an app to your mobile phone or tablet
To download MyOP as an app we recommend you use the Chrome browser (any version above 114.0), and make sure your device is up to date. Note – some older devices may not support PWAs.
- Log into the MyOP learner portal on your phone or tablet
- Click ‘Add MyOP to homescreen’
- Click ‘Install’
MyOP will now show in your apps on your phone.
If you do not get the ‘Add MyOP to homescreen’ message after you log in, you need to:
- Tap the ellipses on the top right of your menu bar.
- Tap ‘Install app’ (you may need to scroll to see this)
- Select ‘Install’.
