Open Polytechnic’s ESA Publications to provide workbooks to school pupils
ESA Publications, a subsidiary company of The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand Ltd, has printed thousands of workbooks and distributed them to the Ministry of Education to help school pupils who do not have access to devices or the internet as part of the Ministry’s COVID-19 learning from home package.

Lecturer Neil Ballantyne leads the charge in social work
The Open Polytechnic’s Neil Ballantyne has led the development of an open access version of Aotearoa New Zealand Social Work (the journal of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers).
The journal is now one of a number of open access journals hosted as part of the University of Otago’s OUR journal service. As a founder member of the journal's editorial collective Neil negotiated the hosting agreement with the University of Otago and co-edited the first open access issue with Simon Lowe of the University of Waikato.Posted on 11 March 2020
